Raven Supply is proud to support BC Ferries with new Fulton VMP-100 boilers installed on the Queen of Coquitlam and Queen of Surrey. These units provide reliable heat for kitchens, passenger comfort, and the engine room while the ferries are not in service.

BC Ferries – Queen of Surrey

  • Boiler/Heater Info: VMP-100 with O2 trim, remote level monitoring, auto pump back-up
  • Application: Kitchen, comfort heating, and maintaining engine/engine room warmth when the ferry is not in use
  • Location: Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) – Departure Bay (Nanaimo)

 

Unique Aspects:
    • Boilers required LF certification from Lloyd’s Registry, in consultation with Transport Canada
    • Special features included: reflex sight glass, custom SRV (49 PSI), second steam safety valve, second water column (visual indication only), flanged stack & bottom blowdown connections, manual surface blowdown, NEMA 4 panel box with liquid tight conduit, stainless steel jacket, running hour meter, 3-phase pump contactor, remote E-stop/start, steel fuel lines with forged fittings, no cast iron parts, and other special fittings/accessories as per LR requirements
    • Site visits and engineered drawings/calculations were required for certification
